The purpose of the project
The supplying the victims of National Socialism with glasses, repairing of the glasses to the mentioned persons.
The target group
Former prisoners of Nazi concentration camps, ghettos, prisons, the camps on front line of German defense created by Hitlerites, children's camps on the blood sampling and the realization of medical operations and also other victims of Nazism registered in the databank of the foundation.

The summary of the project
The present project gives another opportunity to provide the assistance to victims of Nazism.
From the registered in the victim’s databank of the foundation about 90 % require glasses that makes about 110 Thousand people.
In the context of the present project it is planned to supply 30 Thousand people with glasses.
The project includes two basic phases:
The first phase is to inform citizens from the target group on the project and to organize the work of the workshop on the production and repair of glasses;
The second phase is to make glasses on the recipes submitted by citizens from the target group, and their distribution, rendering the assistance in the selection of glasses, repair of these people’s glasses.
For the realization of the project the foundation has all necessary opportunities:
The wide experience of the practical work;
Skilled professional employees work at the foundation. The offices are well equipped and have everything necessary for the work;
The accounting personnel of the foundation is highly professional;
The foundation has the wide work experience with foreign partners, and also fruitfully cooperates with the customs services, the institutions of the Ministry of Health and other legal persons;
The connections with manufacturers and suppliers of lenses and glasses frames are established

Since JANUARY, 1, 2006 the workshop on manufacturing the glasses has been open
at the Belarusian Republic Foundation «Mutual understanding and reconciliation».
The persons suffered from National Socialist persecutions during the Second World War and registered in the database of the Belarusian Republic Foundation «Mutual understanding and reconciliation» have the right for the free-of-charge reception of the glasses under the humanitarian project “The supplying the victims of National Socialism with glasses”.
The production of the glasses in the workshop of the foundation is being carried out on the basis of the recipes submitted by the citizens and written out by the doctor – an ophthalmologist in the place of the victims’ residence.
The people can be examined and receive the recipe in the ophthalmologist’s office at the Belarusian Republic Foundation «Mutual understanding and reconciliation» (The medical practice is not carried out by the ophthalmologist. At the reception is possible to receive only the necessary advice for the further examination in the institutions of the public health services of
The regime of the ophthalmologist’s work: 13.00-17.00
Reception hours by the ophthalmologist:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - from 14.00 till 16.30;
Friday (14.00-15.30) – the fulfillment of the work on the maintenance of norms of sanitary and epidemiologic and hygienic actions, and also the reception of the citizens except the inhabitants of
The daily possibility of receiving with necessary diagnostic research by the ophthalmologist - till 10 persons.
The registration of the orders for the production and the fine repair of glasses, the selection of the frame of the required size, form and color is being carried out in workshop of the foundation.
At the production of glasses the completing materials only of the Belarusian manufacture are used. The delivery of glasses’ frames is carried out by the Novogrudok firm «
At the workshop no more than two glasses (for reading and distances) for one person according to the submitted recipes can be made.
Technical opportunities of the equipment available in the workshop allow to carry out no more than 15 orders during a working day.
The work regime of the workshop on the production and the fine repair of glasses:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 8.00 till 16.30
Friday – the production of glasses on the basis of the accepted before orders, the registration of orders for citizens, except the inhabitants of
The distribution of the finished goods is carried out through the drugstores of the Foundation. For the reception of ready glasses it is necessary to have the passport and the receipt which has been made out at the reception of the order in the workshop on the production and fine repair of glasses.
